The Grand Canyon

Another perfect day for good views!

In the center of the pic below, you can see Bright Angel Trail, Indian Gardens & Plateau Point. Back in the 80's, when I lived in Prescott, I hiked the Grand Canyon many times & we usually stayed down there for 2 nights. 


I went down the Bright Angel Trail a mile. See the trail?





See the green patch at the bottom? That is Phantom Ranch. I camped there in the 80's.


Check out the lookout at the top left. The next pic of me is on that point.


Hard to say goodbye to such a beautiful place!
Saw elk crossing leaving the park.

      You have to check it out someday! I've seen it many times, but still marvel at the grandeur every time I'm there!

Took a slightly different road to get to highway 81, was able to get a great view of the hills surrounding the Strands!

Meteor Crater, Arizona

Just east of Grand Canyon, checked out meteor crater, pretty amazing! You can see the crater off in the distance. There was a lot of displaced earth when this meteor hit! Entering into the visitor's center, lots of stuff to do & see! Here is a picture frame of the San Francisco peaks off in the distance on the left. This was solid metal. Crazy heavy! Got here too late. Oh well 🙄 Evening sun to soon go down... Lots of viewing spots.  🧐 The impact spot.  Cool place! Hard to imagine this happening!

Niagara Falls at night

Took a little detour to Niagara Falls on the way back home. Stayed the night at  hotel located very close to the falls. Cool walk to the falls. Ran across a skunk & some raccoons on the pathway. The American side Heading towards Horseshoe Falls,  Best viewed from the Canadian side. Pretty impressive,  even at night!
